Seems the Greens don't like be labelled "anti-faith". Apparently in a survey sent out by the Australian Christian Lobby they declined to answer 18 out of the 24 questions put. The ACL sent out a questionnaire to the major political party's on key issues at this time. Have fun wading through that lot. I found it confusing. But for the record. The labour leader is a "lapsed Baptist" at this time. She actually claims to be an atheist. The leader of the Liberal party is a "practising" Catholic, what ever that means. The leader of the Democrats was a humanist. The Greens was an atheist. That's the last I heard. Enough of that.
My sweetheart, yes that's you Stephanie, keeps getting asked 2 questions. When are you going to have your baby? Mean while Stephanie is waddling around like a very fat duck. She short answer is, we don't don't know. Any day now. If it were up to my sweetheart, it would be yesterday. Heart burn is not fun. Nausea is not fun. Being uncomfortable is not fun.
The second question she gets asked is: Your pregnant? Wow I didn't know that. Mean while back at the ranch, Stephanie's baby bump precedes her where ever she goes. Would you believe I have to bend to hug her these days? Yep, sure do.
Then there is the check list.
- Baby in Belly - check.
- Nappies - check
- Nappy wipes - check
- Case packed for hospital - check
- Cot in position - unchecked. We co-sleep.
Then there is that big question: How is she going to manage a baby. It is about this point that the over whelming urge to be sarcastic overcomes me. I usually am polite and say, the same as the rest of the world. She is not the first lady in her position to have a baby. Oh, but what about the poo? How does she get around that problem. It is about here that I get the urge to go into a very graphic description of fingers and baby poo and smell and touching and so on. There is this almost irresistible urge to go all out. I resist. Instead I just say lots of nappy wipes. The folks are very well meaning and are just curious I know.
And the children, Michele and Cathy, how do they feel about all this? I am not sure. Michele I think is looking forward to the event. She has been reading the updates each week as they come in. And I don't think Cathy is really all that aware of it all. She can see Mum has got fatter out front. But just how sure she is about that baby I am not sure.
Talking of Michele. Yesterday I was over at her class hearing the kids read. Michele is doing grade 2 work. She is only in grade 1 but doing the more advanced work. Go Michele. Dad is proud of you girl.
It is amazing to see the huge difference in the children. Michele's class is made up of grade 1 and 2. In reading there is a huge difference from one child to the next. All children comprehend what they are reading or is read to them. However, some of these kids can barely read a single word. They know what the word means when it is read to them, but not what the word is. Others, like Michele, a reading at an adult level.
Enough for today. See you later. Or as they say in text speak: C u l8r.
