Sunday 30th October - History in the making.

In the head lines on ABC news is this: Qantas defends Joyce pay rise. This fellow is the CEO of Qantas. One of Australia's oldest airlines. His income from Qantas was? Hmmm, just 3.8 million. Am I jealous? No.But I cannot justify the sort of wage for anyone.
But wait there is more. Read the above article. Mr Joyce has just been voted a 71% pay rise. That's around 2.1 million increase. Now he will get 5 million, 3 hundred and ten thousand dollars per year.
But wait there is more.
Qantas grounds entire fleet. There has been a long running dispute between Qantas and its unions. So we give a man a huge pay rise to ground the entire fleet of 100 + aeroplanes.
Is this the end of Qantas? There have been rumours that Qantas wants to move its operations off shore to Asia.
I cant make any sense out of this at all. There is no justification for grounding an entire business because one cant manage its workforce. Further more, a 71% pay increase is completely out of order. It is corporate greed at its very worst.
