Wednesday 5th September 2007 B R A G

Three photo's and they all tell a story. A chick holding a chicken. The look of shear and utter delight/rapture on a daughter also holding a chicken. And last but not least, the youngest looking up at Dad. Yes, sir, I am one well blessed man. What more could one possibly want?
Cathy, the one on her belly, also now known as Hot Water Bottle, still isn't rolling. But she is trying to sit up. She will do it. Her latest trick is to detach from Mum whilst feeding and give me the biggest smile and then, after being told by me to get her mind back on the job, to re-attach and carry on. She is turning into a real little charmer.
By the way, thanks Erin for a great weekend. That trip to Hahndorf was worth every last minute. Oh, for those of you not in the know, it is pronounced "harndorff". And I am not allowed to forget it.
We were supposed to go to Adelaide to see the in-laws. We didn't see them but had a great time all the same.
Now, I read the newspaper today. We here in this country are holding a conference up in Sydney. Would you believe the center of Sydney has been surrounded by a mess fence for the time the conference is on. What a load of crap. But wait, that's not all. A certain leader of the most powerful nation on earth is so frightened for his safety that he has a staff of 670 to wait on his every whim. He has an ambulance, just for his own personal needs. No man is that important. Why this massive security? Because even he realises that there are those out there who do not subscribe to the theory that biggest is best. There are also those out there who do not happen to be very pleased with what that nation is doing on the late great planet earth just at this time. It is his way or no way and he has the fire power and will power to back it up and you had better cower tower or you will be history. Am I a racist? You better believe I am. Especially when one nation thinks it is better than every one else. Even terrorist organisations give money to the poor. That does not make what they do right. Bully's give money and help, that doesn't make what they do right either. And just because his most powerful nation helps, or is seen to be helping, that doesn't give them the right to bully the rest of the world into submission. Of course that nation knows what the rest of us think, but they don't give a damn because it is their way or no way!
A positive for a negative. This last weekend St Luke's Anglican, which we attend, had a sausage sizzle give away. Over 180 sausages were given way. And nothing was asked in return. It was called a Love Bomb. Now that remind me of a church I was in when I lived in Kalgoorlie. They used to have a free car wash in the car park of the church. The cost? One was required to accept a Gospel tract. That was it. No money changed hands and no favours were asked in return. On another occasion the church painted the house numbers in reflective pain on the cub out the front of each house in a suburb. The cost to the home owner? Nothing!
And tomorrow? Which may be history before you read this? I get to help out at Michele's preschool. Ain't that something? You don't think so? Then you obviously don't have kids! My only regret is that I can't take Cathy with me! And next week on Thursday it will be Steph's turn and she will take Cathy! Sometimes I think things are lop sided in favour of women! Maybe I will become a Stay At Home Dad. That article is not very kind to Stay At Home Dad's. But it does give an idea what it is all about.
