Monday 21st December 2009 Merry Christmas

Lots Of Flowers.
These are images of my garden. The top one is of potato flowers. Yes, it looks like a bumper crop. Potatoes and tomatoes are in season. But it is hard growing. The soil is sand and drains to well. Water this morning and dry tonight.

The second image is bottle brush. It is growing in my drive. Of course, it likes sandy soil. I am also experimenting with the photo's. Sort of re-inventing the wheel as it were.
Next is a rose. This one was going to get the chop. I had already killed three roses by loving them too much. Rule number one. Don't dig around the base of roses. They don't like it. Apparently I had destroyed the main tap root.
Last but not least, even if you can't see it, is a sweet pea. And no I didn't. But it does look good in full flower.

So, we are at the end of another year. This post is my first post for a long time. There is a good reason for that. In this house we have been through some turmoil. I wont go into the details; that isn't necessary. However, that is the reason for no posts so far for this month.
Michele has passed her Prep year and next year go into Grade 1-2. Well done.

On another matter. I think some times I must look at things a little differently. It's God and man thing and I am not sure I can express my thoughts on this very well. But lets look at a verse from Micah. Chapter 6 verse 8. And He has shown you what is good, oh man. And what does He require of you? Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.
That is a loaded verse. It requires us to have a relationship with God, doesn't it? If your going to walk with some one then your going to talk with them and follow them and engage with them and so on. Yes, you agree? Then why do we all keep treating God like He is sort of not really here, or there? It is sort of like we have Him on a telephone line and we can dismiss Him any time we choose. We are all going about our lives and tacking Christ on like an extra bit of clothing. We "do" Him when we have time.
We go through this every Christmas. Um, I wonder what would happen if we were to ask Him how He wanted us to celebrate Christmas. Now that would be interesting.
