Saturday 8th August 2009 Little bits of this and that.

So, here it is. Outside on a temporary pole. Oh, your bored with antennas and ham radio? Well, I might talk about something else later.
For now? It's my experiments with the Moxon. The antenna performed better than I thought it might. I was able to talk from Frankston, that's where I live, to station on the other side of Port Phillip bay at Geelong, that's where I don't live. On my handy talky with its little antenna I couldn't even hear those stations, much less talk to them. And the photo is taken looking toward Geelong. The antenna is barely above the roof line. I think it is fairly save to say the antenna is a screaming success.
What now. Well, I guess next I build a Moxon for 2 Metres. Watch this space.
Lest you think our life be totally boring, let me burst that little bubble with a pin, or a pop. Well, isn't that what happens when I approach a bubble with the sharp end of a pin?
This Jorge Bolet Master Class - Rachmaninoff Piano Concert is what we are listening to right now. Why? Because my love has decided to go back and get her grade 8 piano certificate. That might be followed by a degree, or what ever it is called, in teaching piano. Then she will teach, pass on, her extensive piano knowledge. You didn't know that? Neither did I till I got to know her better. Try this: Barenboim Master class with Lang Lang. And it is always interesting to listen to a master class on almost any subject.
And this quote to end.
From Major W. Ian Thomas "I cannot-God never said I could; but God can. and always said He would!" That quote is from the book The Indwelling Life of Christ - All of Him in All of Me.
