I am currently in the business of catching up with little jobs I have promised to do for a while. Michele now has her swing in the back yard. We got it almost 12 months ago and hadn't got around to setting it up. She has been asking me to do it for a while and now it is done. And she is now a happy camper again. Stephanie's dad gave us a BBQ. He pulled it to bits to transport it here. Now I have to put it back together. That's what I will do this Saturday. On Friday we are going to have a picnic in the park. Another promise we will keep.
Then there is the foyer I must finish painting.
Should I get on my soap box this time? Yes, why not. After all I have to live up to my egotistical reputation don't I. I had a full and frank discussion with a colleague the other day. Apparently his nephew (age 12) got into trouble for throwing eggs at the neighbours house. The nephew's parents where at the pictures or some such thing and the young fellow was home alone. Of course when his parents arrived home and found out they were horrified and set forth to punish the youngster. Sound about correct. Well I asked a rather silly question. Like, what was he doing home alone in the first place. The response was that at 12 years old he should be responsible enough not to do throw eggs at the next door neighbour's house. I disagree and said so. Oh, silly me. As I said at the time, no 12 year old should be home alone. It is placing temptation in front of a child that they should not be tempted with. Yes, he ought not to have thrown the eggs, but also he should not have been placed in a position where he could or there was the possibility that he would. At 12 a child should be guided and trained not left to their own means.
Enough of me.
