Sunday 22nd July 2007 I have nothing .....

....really to waffle about. "Wow" said the wife. "You always have something to wax lyrical about". I thought that was a bit cheeky. Is she indicating I am a wind bag? Don't, p[ease do not answer that question. I may not like your answer.
What can I waffle about? Lots really. I saw this box of flowers yesterday. There was Asian Lilly's, tulips and some other flowers which looked quite nice along with a green foliage background. Lots of different textures and so on. I though "Stephanie". So I bought them "coz". Why "Coz"? Coz I can. And she is lovely and she is my wife. And I love her. No I didn't want anything in return. I just wanted to buy them for her.
Also my lovely darling wife got her hair cut yesterday morning. She is now a stunning beauty. She was before, but even more so now. The colours she had put in a while ago now really show. Make her look very young and very stylish. In a very stately sort of way.
Whilst Steph was getting her hair cut the two girls and I flew around looking for this and that. Actually I am in the market for a new ham radio and I thought maybe I could get it whilst I was there.
That brings me to my next pet peeve. Mr Dick Smith Electronics, who started out specialising in amateur radio equipment now doesn't even stock amateur gear. Mind you Dick no longer has any say in the business. He sold out years ago. But all the same I am annoyed. In the afternoon, Stephanie had a lady's only do to go to. So she took Catherine to that. Whilst she was at that, Michele and myself flew down to the main shopping precinct of Franks ton to another store I had been told that stocked amateur gear. They also now no longer do. What a pain.
Enough of my bellyaching. Michele and I had a great time roaming around. I think some though it was a bit weird this old man running around with this 3 year old acting like he was 3 but too bad. It's a good thing they don't see me too often in action with Cathy. It is great fun. Anyway back to the main rambling. Michele and I gave up on amateur gear for the time being and headed for home to get the evening meal ready. Actually Michele does help a bit. She tries to peel potatoes and carrots and so on. She isn't all that good at it but I give her a go. How else will she learn. She certainly is improving. But most of all she likes the taste testing bit. She loves raw veggies so she taste tests each veggie. Lots of fun and some very weird faces. Which makes me laugh. And all the while she is learning. Learning should be fun.
OK what our St Luke's Bible reading for this weekend? Psalm 73. It is about the seeming success of those who don't follow Christ as opposed to those who don't. And for me, verse 28 says it all. And what does verse 28 say?
28 But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.
Go hear for the whole chapter: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2073;&version=50;
It is a good read and very encouraging. I can imagine Job writing this Psalm at the end of his testings. And speaking of Job. God answered his what with who. Ponder that one for a while and see what you come up with. Comments are permitted.

When you talk about St. Luke's daily Bible readings, is that a schedule provided by a church named St. Luke's, or is there some formal Bible reading plan out there called "St. Luke's"?
