Today 13th June 2007

From St Luke's Bible reading plan for today. The Bible reading is Ezekiel chapter 22. You can read it here: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ezekiel%2022&version=31;

verse 30 "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none." That has got to be one of the saddest verses in the whole of the Bible! Now I know that the world as we know it has a finite time of existence. However, may I plead with Christ that He may show mercy. God is looking still for some one to stand in the gap, to be the watchman and plead with tears in his eyes and a rent heart, a burden for all the lost people, for all those who would and do injustice. There are hundreds of millions of people who will go to their grave without ever hearing the good news of Christ's love for them. There are millions of false prophets who claim to speak Christ word to the world and all they do is preach lies, may God have mercy on them. But at the same time it is watchmen and pleading men, and women, that God wants.
