It had to happen.....

Today we are getting the veggies ready for dinner. Miss Independent, alias Michele, decides to peel the sweet potatoes and slice the beans. Yes, we have a bean slicer. Twice she slipped with the potato peeler. First time, no harm done except a bruised ego. Dad's ego that is! Second time it was more serious. She actually cut her self bad enough to need a band aid and some TLC from daddy. You see we believe in letting her have a go. If she wants to have a go then let her have a go. All too often children are told to go play with their toys. This goes on for years. Then all of a sudden, one day, we "expect" them to be able to do everything and do it correctly. Mean while, when they actually wanted to help we pushed them away. So, she fell of a chair, and she has now cut herself with a potato peeler. Big deal. She will get over it and so will we.
Mean while, whilst all this is going on Catherine is sleeping her head off, waiting and planning her next move, like how can I catch Mummy out when changing a nappy and poo at the " right time".

Oh, by the way, did I tell you I am your worst nightmare. I am passionate about my kids. I love them to bits and can't get enough time with them. I am your typically boring bragging egocentric dad. You know, the one with the camera and tape recorder and a memory like an elephant.
I like the wife, Mrs Bossman. I loved her when I married her, now I not only love her, I respect her. She is the most amazing creature where the kids are involved. Left to herself she can tell you on the instant what is the matter with one of our children. I get the manual out. Not so Mrs Bossman. She just knows! And what is more, she can't understand why I don't. But that's life.
OK, enough for now.
