Some times I think I should be a stay at home dad. After all there are stay at home mums, why not stay at home dads. But then again, maybe not. I don't think Mrs Manager could cope with me being home all day. Michele and Cathy would love it but not Mum. Why did I say that? Well today was day shift. I am not fond of day shift. I am away from home all day on day shift. This morning I was out the door at 0930 and didn't get back in the door until almost 1830. That's a waste. I like early or late shift so I can get time with my family every day. I mean quantity time as well as quality time. Both are important.
I was listening to the news going to work today. There is this 9 year old boy who has been caught for the third time with a stolen car. Each time it results in a smash. So far no one has been hurt. But it's only a matter of time. Why isn't the child being detained? Because the police can't charge him with anything because he is too young. And what's more the boy knows it and thumbs his nose at police. They can't touch him and he plays on it. He can do what ever he wants with complete immunity. That is a crying shame. There is more to the story and I am not going to divulge that here. That's not why I raised the issue. I want to know why the Child protection services haven't step ed in. He is "chroming" (paint sniffing) and all sorts of things. This little child is headed for jail at best and possibly death. All because our society doesn't love him enough to discipline him. All he needs to stop him in his tracks and turn him around is for some one to give him some love and discipline. And I don't mean a good spanking. All though it may come to that. He is an older child I agree and certainly old enough to know that what he is doing is wrong. In fact he appears to know that, but still he continues on. He needs some one to listen to him. And ignore some of his bad behaviour. He needs taking off the streets. I think, I may be wrong, but I think he is crying out for some attention. Yes, probably a good spanking, but at the same time some tender love may not go astray. But the biggest question must be aimed at Family And Community Services. Why is this kid still running loose on our streets? Must he kill himself, or some one else, before some one takes note?
