I still don't know how to do the background thingy, but who cares.
Mum's at her choir practice tonight and I am Mr Mum. The girls are at a testing age. We are in bed but not asleep and we are waiting for dad, that's me, to go back in a roar. f course we are in our bed with a look on our collective faces that is pure angelic. Complete with smoke. And horns. But I love them.
I am soooooooooooooooooooo proud of them Michele can read at the level of an 8 year old complete with comprehension. That is way beyond her 5 years old. Go Michele. And she is such a sweet kid with it. Full of life and love. And she knows that I will go look for those special treats that she asks for.
And then there is Cathy. She is now 2.5 and knows her alphabet. And her hugs. And her kisses. And knows that when dad rough houses her that mum will go crook at dad, but that secretly mum likes it.
And then there is Mum. Wow, what a woman. The next bit is censored for obvious reasons.
Thank You Lord Jesus for granting me such a wonderful life with such beautiful people.
I am reading Hebrews just now. It is a brilliant book. Where to start writing is hard to say.
Lets try some memory verses. I will give them you goo look them up.
Hebrews 1:1-2 in the old days He spoke by inspiration. Today, through Jesus. Wow.
Hebrews 2:3. How can we escape if we neglect so great a salvation. Hang on a bit... how can we neglect so great a salvation.
Let us there fore approach the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and grace in our time of need. That's in Hebrews 4. Go read it, find it.
You paid tithes to Melchizedek. Go read all about it in chapter 7.
See, it is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo interesting. The Bible is so interesting. And it is life. No, Jesus is live, but I guess since the Bible is about Jesus then it is about life. No, it is about life. Jesus is life. And the Bible expresses Him. Go see John 1:1

Wednesday 29th July 2009 The things we do.....
.... when we are bored. I think the background for this blog is boring and I have seen some real nice backgrounds on blogs. But do you think I can find out how to do it?
There was this really nice lady over at Conservative Life who told me about a link on the left hand side of the page. Trouble is, which page and where? It must be me age.
What am I doing these days? Driving trains. Playing with my 2 daughters. Trying to get my radios to work. Playing with my wife, the rest of that bit is censored for obvious reason, information overload and all that.
I am reading Hebrews. yes, it is the Bible. The New Testament to be precise. And the wifey and I have just finished The Love Dare as a couple and we are now going to do it individually.
Now we are going to read what I don't know.
Yep, life gets tedious don't it.

Tuesday 7th July 2009 Happy Birthday Larry.
Moxon Wire Antenna
A little closer.
But first, today is my younger brother's birthday. He is 52 years old today. So, again, Happy birthday Larry.
Now, back to my project. You see I happen to play with Radio. The ham variety and not as in pigs either. One eats pigs, one does not eat wireless. Well, you can if you wish. I will stick to eating pigs.
Back to my project. It is an antenna. One transmits and receives with an antenna.
But this is a Moxon Rectangle Coat-hanger Antenna which I found over at Practical Wireless.
Am I excited about this antenna? You had better believe I am. I like the design and the gain figures that go with it. It is small and compact, ideal for our rather small yard.
The other reason is that it is the first antenna I have built since 1994. And that is quite a long time. And the antenna works. Of course, since I don't have a meter I have no way of knowing how well tuned it is. But it works quite well. I have built is strictly according to the specifications and measurements in the article. So, assuming I have it all correct, it should be resonant on the 70cm band.
My previous antennas were on the 2 metre band. I built 5 and 14 element antennas at that time.
